Notifixious use case #2 : monitoring search results!
It’s just the begining for Notifixious and I am already happy to see that some people are making great feature request and are using Notifixious in ways I would not have expected : monitoring search results!
Most of “modern” search engines are now providing RSS/Atom feeds for their results, such as Summize (now Twitter Search), Technorati, or even Google blog search. Lucky you : notifixious can track these feeds very easily and then you are among the first ones to know when a new search result has been found : great tool for an entrepreneur who tracks all that’s being said about his company! You can also track Craigslist’s search result to buy a Wii for example!
Here is a basic “How to” in 3 steps :
- Make a query on the search engine you want : Notifixious within Technorati
- Copy the RSS link
- Paste it into Notifixious‘ home page
- Choose the channel on which you want to be notified!
