Notifixious at SFBeta
Yesterday, Notifixious demoed at SFBeta : it was actually Notifixious’s first “public appearance” and I have to say that I was not ready at all : the version that I showed is slow and buggy while the “next one” is not yet ready… also, the Wifi is very bad at Minna, and my 3G card was not working very well, since I was in the back room. Anyway, I “jumped” in the fire and finally everything went well! Special thanks to Simon who was a great coach
First, I was surprised by the number and the quality of people who actually came and asked about Notifixious, some of them challenged me with very smart questions! Not that I expected people to ask stupid question, but I was really expecting to spend half of my time waiting for people to come… These guys and girls, wether they were students or actually CEO of successful startups (yeah, one of them sold his last week to MS) were great and gave me a good feedback :
- the name is awfully poor: I know, and I’m working on it… hopefully I’ll have some good news in a few weeks
- the idea is great, but I really need to improve my “message” to convince users to use Notifixious
- recruiting is gonna be “pain in the a**” (litterally), well, I knew it. Some guys even tried to convince me to switch from Ruby to PHP…
- Business models : hum, I was quite surprised that some people think it’s gonna be very difficult to monetize such a service, not that I thought it’d be easy, but I have so many different ideas that I expect at least one to work well!
Next step: I collected a ton of business cards and I will have to send an invite to join Notifixious on Facebook to all of them
You’re welcome to do so as well!
