Leave Yahoo, join Notifixious
There is no day without the anouncement of an top exec or VP leaving Yahoo!. Of course, everyone complains and says that they’ll be missed at Yahoo! Individually, yes, maybe, but collectively, it’s not that sure!
If Yahoo! is where it is today, it’s not only because of Jerry Yang. He joined a year ago because Yahoo! was already in trouble… dominated by Google and forced to buy tons of early stage start-up (Flickr, delicious…) because they lost their “innovative” spirit and feared that any of them would beat them on specific products.
Let’s face it, collectively, Yahoo’s management failed in the last 5 years and, more than never, they need some “fresh air”, new ideas, new challenges and, of course, new people.
I don’t know what’s going to happen at Yahoo! and if it will “survive” its massive exodus, but I know that if nothing had changed, Yahoo! would have probably been “dead” within 2 years.
Anyway, if you’re not sure you want to stay at Yahoo!, take the opportunity to join a very ambitious startup : Notifixious. We’re looking for top developers with strong knowledge of Ruby On Rails, Jabber (XMPP), or Amazon’s AWS! And, hey, it’s bootstrapped and we plan on raising funds very soon, so your options here will be worth more that the one you received at Yahoo! last year

“Yahoo! would have probably been “dead” within 2 years. ”
I don’t think because some internet startup are in the market since many years and they had never won a dollars and they still live,
The problem of Yahoo is not that he is not big, but not enough big for compete with google
@Kais,
You’re totally right, Yahoo! will probably still exist. But, it would probably not be an important player anymore, and its influence on the market would definetely be lower than GOOG, AMZN or even new players such as Facebook and others…
Some people say that the problem is not yahoo but
Ho, well these “people” are usually not very “colored” in their opinions and when they find a prey they usually don’t leave it until it’s dead!
Hi there,
The main roles of top management are to show the way in order for the teams to be able to identify what they are doing as a valuable part of the goal to reach.
Yahoo failed to do that…
