Building a start-up : weekly update (2)
Ok, it’s only the second episode and I am late, already. It’s actually very very difficult to hold 3 “jobs” at the same time (my day-time/visa job, my job at Jobetudiant.net, and everything related to Notifixious, while keeping a “balanced” life with friends and other activities!) … Anyway, in less than 4 months now I’ll be focused on Notifixious only.Since last episode, I’ve been working hard on Notifixious and I am now using a private version that is a lot more “robust”. I’ll open it to my friends/readers very soon and hopefuly, you can start using it and help build it soon. I’ve also made some “strategic” choices on what to implement now and on what to do later. Since I am currently “on the road”, I made the decision not to postpone an iPhone version to later than this summer! On the business side, I’ve met/called a few people -entrepreneurs, French American Chamber of Commerce- and I am starting to have a more clear vision on what’s needed, investment-wise to get a E2 visa (Entrepreneur) : rougly 1 year of “costs” for the start-up. In my case, it’s between $80k and $100k. As a consequence, I had to call my french lawyer to figure how much dividends jobetudiant.net could distribute… and well, it seems -thanks to EUR/USD- that I’ll be able to do it, without requiring Angel/VC investment so far!

Let’s hope the EUR/USD change doesn’t fluctuate too much in the wrong side (for you).
Glad to read you thought about an iPhone version, now you got to tell us if this will be a native or a web application.
Best of luck.

@Stef : well, in the begining it’s going to be a web app… a later maybe -probably- an iPhone native app.

Even though you have 3 jobs at the same time now, most important is that you are happy with all 3. Some people aren’t that lucky.
