Notifixio.us

Tada! Notifixio.us is the name of my new venture… Basically, it’s a very descriptive name, since Notifixio.us (pronounced notifixious) is a notification tool. In the first time, here is what you’ll be able to do with Notifixio.us :

Select your favorites sources of information on the web : blogs, news sites, webservices (online banking, twitter…), social platforms ( LinkedIn, Seesmic…)
Enter your favorite communication tools : email, instant messaging (MSN, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Skype…), SMS, or even your facebook account
And be notified on these communication tools when a something new happens in any of your favorite source!

The main idea is that you do not need to “check” if anything is new on any website, because Notifixio.us will let you know when this happens!

Congratz for your new venture! I like the idea, not really the name (one io.us more). But, it's just a matter of taste and i don't really know how a native american guy pronounces "notifixious". Does it sound weird or not, simple or not ?

Anyway, hope this venture will bring what you expect!

L'idée n'est pas vraiment révolutionnaire il me semble, c'est le principe des flux rss. La différence se situe dans le panel élargi des applications qui supportent ton flux d'informations. Mais en a-t-on vraiment besoin? ;)

Thomas a raison pour l'énième nom en .us.
De plus, la prononciation parait fastidieuse à cause du "x". Je sais bien que nous sommes à l'ère du web où plus personne ne communique à voix haute, mais le cerveau accroche un peu quand même sur le nom.

Thanks Thomas! Well, the name is not perfect, but I was just bored of looking for something that pleases me more... Notifixio.us sounds cool to me and include 2 ideas : "Notify" and "Fix"...
For the pronounciation, well, aren't they supposed to say like us, french guys? Anyway, I also registered the notifictio.us and the .com domains... so I guess that'll make it!

Anyway, if I happen to catch someting cooler, I'll change, but I really needed to have someting now...

Non, l'idée n'est pas révolutionnaire... mais il ne me semble pas l'avoir dit une seule fois, d'autant que je ne crois pas à "l'idée révolutionnaire"! Ceci dit, le flux RSS est une technologie... -pas très utilisée pour le moment- et moi, ce que je propose, c'est un produit, qui va se baser -entre autres- sur les flux RSS!

Pour la prononciation, sincèrement, en Anglais, je ne trouve pas cela "imprononçable"! En français non plus d'ailleurs...

Allez, Julien, je commente en français, ta langue natale aussi pour contrebalancer le commentaire de Miss laetitia, que je trouve un peu dur...

C'est d'ailleurs sans doute la principale différence de culture entre les américains et les français lorsqu'on lance un nouveau business. Les français ronchonnent là où les américains et notamment la Silicon Valley encourage.

Alors, moi pour contrebalencer laetitia que j'aurais par ailleurs plaisir à rencontrer IRL (rires), je te dis une seule chose...

Votre humble commentatrice n'évoquait que son opinion personnelle et ne prétendait pas répandre la vérité universelle sur ce sujet. Quoiqu'il en soit, ma fibre geek (et bon dieu qu'elle est bien enracinée) me fera très certainement tester et utiliser au moins temporairement ton nouveau service.

Y aura-t-il un bêta-test par ailleurs?

J'adore le nom! Le 'x' est cle, bonne reference tongue-in-cheek a 'obnoxious', c'est cool puisque c'est un service qui va te les briser a te notifier toutes les 3s :p Ca ajoute toute une dimension d'autoderision qui le rend tres sympathique.
Je suis aps trop branche web 2.0 et tout ca, mais j'ai quand meme hate de voir ton affaire. Keep up the good work!

etc etc. c'est gros.
